This poem describes the poet is feeling tired and sad, at one dark December night.

He is reading old books to Escape his grief over the death of his love, Lenore,

When he hears a rapping on his door and there is a man that lost his wife

and he is along in his room studying old books at midnight. Then he hears

a Knocking at his door and he asks who's there, then he opens the door and looks

and there was no one there. He hears another knocking at his door and he went to

look and he saw a raven. The raven flew into his room and just sat there in the head

of a statue, then the man asked the raven what was his name and the raven said

"Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
