it judges life.  I agree with this statement.  In the short story "Miss Brill".  The author Katherine

Mansfreld uses several methods of characterization to reveal what Miss Brill is like.

        The story tells about Miss Brill who is a lonely and boring woman.  The author chooses to focus on

one item of Miss Brill's apparel her box fur.  Miss Brill keeps it carefully warped in its box and touches it

lovingly when she  takes it our.   She goes to the park and sit s at the chair looking at what other people

doing .  She doesn't tell any other person.  She is so quiet. She always does nothing at the park.

Sometimes, She is sad because the young boy and young girl said her fur is ugly.  But she like the fur so

much.
 
        I feel "at bottom a criticism of life" as same to the "Miss Brill".
